Astral is a layer over the Claude Code already installed on your laptop.
The whole inbox, and it runs on the Claude plan you already pay for.
Download for MacmacOS. Needs Claude Code installed.
We will charge for other things one day. The inbox is not one of them, so it is free now and it stays free.
The inbox is free and it stays free. What we will charge for one day is agents that do more than the coding part of running a product. There is no billing in the app at all today, so there is nothing to pay for even if you wanted to.
The agents do. Astral does not. They run on the Claude plan you already pay for and cost what they would have cost in a terminal, so ten agents still cost what ten agents cost. Astral never calls a model itself, so leaving it open all day costs you nothing.
No. There is no sign-up, no sign-in and no account. You download it, open it, and it is running. There is nothing to create and no password to lose.
No. Astral is a window onto the Claude Code already on your machine, reading your sessions off your own disk. No server of ours sits between your code and Claude.
Yes. Every Claude Code session on your machine is in the list, including the ones you started yourself in a terminal, and you can answer those like any other. Your terminal keeps working exactly as it does now, so you can stay in it for any agent you would rather run there.
Open the lid and they pick up where they were. It works the way Claude Code does, except you never have to type continue, because each agent carries on in the session it was already in. Quitting Astral is a different thing and it does stop the agents Astral started.
No. It drives the Claude Code you already installed, with your permissions and your settings. Anthropic ships it, and we gave it a list.
It is the same app with one agent in it, and nothing here has a minimum. One agent still keeps you in flow, in a cleaner place to work than a terminal tab. You may find you start running more of them, because adding one takes so little.
There is no phone version. Copy this link, open it on your Mac, and the download is right here.
